Virat Kohli

Indian captain Virat Kohli has overtaken his own partner Rohit Sharma in the eyes of the batsman who scored the most runs in T20 International. In the second T20 match played at Mohali on Wednesday, Kohli beat Rohit to an unbeaten 72-run innings against South Africa to achieve the title of highest run-scorer in the shortest format of the game.

However, there is a difference of only seven runs between the two. Kohli has now scored 2441 runs while Rohit has 2434 runs. Rohit has scored so many runs in 97 T20 matches at an average of 32.45. Rohit has four centuries and 17 half-centuries in T20. Kohli has left Rohit behind in 71 matches. The average of this veteran batsman in T20 is 50.85. Although Kohli does not have an international century in T20 he has scored more than 50 runs 22 times.

Virat Kohli forced South Africa to defeat South Africa by seven wickets on Wednesday. Happy with this victory, Kohli got his old memories on this ground. In the T20 World Cup-2016, the match of India and Australia took place on this ground, in which Kohli won the innings of 82 runs to his team and also cleared the way for India to go to the semi-finals.

In that match, the then captain of India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ran Kohli a lot between the wickets. Kohli also shared a picture of that match on Instagram a few days ago. When Kohli arrived for the man of the match award after the match played with South Africa, host Sanjay Manjrekar asked about the match against Australia, to which Kohli laughed saying, ‘You gave me the best T20 match of my career Reminded of. This will give me additional encouragement.

Kohli said, ‘Today’s pitch, however, was a little different from the pitch of that match. He will always be in my good memories, but today’s wicket was also good. The bowlers did well for us. The pitch was good and they also got a good start.

Kohli said, ‘The batch in front of my T-shirt inspires me. It is a matter of pride for me to play for my country, so I will do whatever is necessary for it. India won this match and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. The first match in Dharamshala was canceled due to rain.
