IND vs BAN: Deepak Chahar

Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who set a world record with 6 wickets by spending just 7 runs against Bangladesh, has made a strong jump in the ICC rankings. He has jumped 88 places to 42nd in the ICC T20 rankings for bowlers on the basis of his excellent performance. However, slow bowlers dominate the list. The top five bowlers and 8 of the top 9 bowlers are spinners. Mitchell Sentner of New Zealand has reached the second place after Rashid Khan of Afghanistan.

In the third and final match against Bangladesh, Chahar became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in this shortest format. With this, India was successful in winning the first T20 series on home soil this season. Among other bowlers from India, Krunal Pandya (combined 18th) has jumped 6 places, Yuzvendra Chahal (25th) and Washington Sundar (27th) have jumped 21 places.

Rohit Sharma remains India’s top batsman. He is in the 7th position as before, while KL Rahul has moved up one place to 8th position on Sunday after scoring a half-century.

Shikhar Dhawan, who has been struggling for runs for some time, has dropped to 12th, Virat Kohli not playing in this series, 15th and poor form Rishabh Pant has dropped to 89th position. England’s David Malan has placed third in the batting list.

In the list of batsmen, Babar Azam of Pakistan is on top and Aaron Finch of Australia is in second place. Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Naeem has reached the joint 38th position. He scored 143 runs in three matches of this series.

Due to Glenn Maxwell not playing in the all-rounders’ list, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi has topped the Australian, while Oman’s Zeeshan Maqsood has finished sixth.

Pakistan leads the team rankings with 270 points, but Australia is just one point behind after winning the three-match series 2–0. England, South Africa, and India are in the next three places.
