Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is out of the second ODI against Australia in Rajkot on Friday. Pant was hit by a ball in the helmet while batting in the first ODI against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, causing headaches. He could not get on the field during fielding.
Rishabh Pant was admitted to the hospital and has now been discharged. Pant will now undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
The BCCI said in a statement, “Rishabh did not appear on the field after suffering an injury while batting in the first ODI. Then he was kept under the supervision of an expert overnight. His condition is stable and all his scan reports are correct. He has been discharged from the hospital and will now undergo rehabilitation at the NCA in Bangalore.
The board said, ‘They have been excluded from the second ODI. His availability for the final ODI will depend on how he undergoes rehabilitation. While batting in the 44th over of the match, a ball from Pat Cummins took the edge of the bat and went to Pant’s helmet. On this, he feared a head injury. Pant had scored 28 runs off 33 balls.
