State BJP Secretary Vikram Randhawa Party will appear before the Discipline Committee today and present the evidence related to the corruption charges leveled against Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. However, Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh has also sent a legal notice to Randhawa. His lawyer GVish Nagrath has said that it is clearly written in the notice that Randhawa should either prove the allegations of corruption against Dr. Jitendra Singh or publicly apologize to him.
At the same time, former MLC and State Secretary Vikram Randhawa said that I have received the notice of the party, but not the legal notice of Dr. Jitendra Singh. I have seen it only on the internet media. I have been a BJP soldier for 26 years. I have raised the issue of corruption in mining. I have no personal rival with Dr. Jitendra Singh. Today I will appear before the Discipline Committee and State President. I will explain my point The party will also talk to Dr. Singh. The party will take the final decision in this matter.
After Randhawa’s press conference, the state BJP has also gathered to compensate for the damage to the BJP’s clean image. However, the Congress and the Panthers Party have begun to stress this, demanding the resignation of Dr. Singh.
On this issue last Tuesday too, there was a round of meetings in the state BJP headquarters and the houses of some senior BJP leaders throughout the day. Many senior BJP leaders were busy in maintaining dialogue with Dr. Jitendra Singh and former MLC and State Secretary Vikram Randhawa throughout the day in an effort to resolve the matter at their own level quickly. Let us tell you that in a press conference last Friday, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh was accused of making links with the mining mafia and creating a base of brokerage in Jammu.
There has been a stir in the state BJP since the allegations of the state secretary. It is also seen to be associated with factionalism in the BJP. The opposition has also become the aggressor since. However, in an effort to handle the situation, the BJP’s disciplinary committee issued a notice to Randhawa on Monday evening itself. The same issue has been discussed in the BJP core committee meeting on Tuesday as well.
It was attended by State President Ravindra Raina, Organization General Secretary Ashok Kaul, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavindra Gupta and some other senior leaders. Randhawa has been called to present his side today. State President Ravindra Raina said that Vikram Randhawa should have brought the matter to the notice of the party earlier, he has broken the discipline. Today, he will present his side. Only then will they be decided.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, his lawyer GVish Nagarath has sent a legal notice to the State BJP Secretary. The notice states that Dr. Singh is a respected citizen of India and a leader with an impeccable image. There have been baseless allegations to tarnish his reputation. Dr. Singh was first elected as an MP from Udhampur-Doda in 2014. Seeing his work, the people of this region made him his MP again in 2019. He is currently the Minister of State in the PMO. In the notice, Vikram Randhawa has been asked to immediately withdraw the allegations leveled against Dr. Singh and make public apologies. Failure to do so has also led to a warning to file a defamation case of Rs one crore against him.
The Congress and the Panthers Party have also become full-fledged attackers on the BJP after the state secretary of the BJP accused the Union minister of corruption. State Congress President GA Mir and former minister Yogesh Sahni said that one of its leaders has exposed the corruption of the BJP. Dr. Jitendra Singh should now resign on moral grounds. The state administration should conduct an impartial inquiry into the allegations of the BJP leader.
Panthers Party chairman Harsh Dev Singh termed the allegations of former MLC Chaudhary Vikram Randhawa as serious and said that the matter should be investigated. Jammu and Kashmir Provincial Head of his party Manjit Singh has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that a nexus between the police, administration and the mineral mafia should be investigated. His party has fought against the mineral mafia before and will continue to do so. Since the charges have also been leveled against the Union Minister, the investigation is necessary.
