The 50th edition of the International Film Festival has started in Goa. Like every year, this year will also last 9 days. This time, more than 200 films from 76 countries will be screened at the film festival. The responsibility of hosting this event is on Karan Johar.

Superstar Rajinikanth was awarded the Icon of Golden Jubilee Award on the first day of the festival. Rajinikanth gave the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to Amitabh Bachchan. On this occasion, Amitabh embraced him. At the opening ceremony, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth described each other as their inspiration. Rajinikanth also touched Amitabh’s feet.

Amitabh often stops the feet but Rajinikanth did it so fast that Amitabh could not stop him. Amitabh Bachchan said, ‘Thank you to all the dignitaries, ladies and gentlemen for this honor and award. It has been the blessing of parents, many directors, writers and producers, musicians have contributed to this journey, because of which I stand here today, but the most gratitude is from the public. ‘

At the beginning of the program Ramesh Sippy, N Chandra and PC Sriram were honored for their contribution to cinema. Shankar Mahadevan performed on this occasion. Filmmaker-director Karan Johar tweeted that there cannot be a better platform to celebrate cinema.
