Hypertension drugs can take serious forms of constipation disease: Study

Generally, people take some medicines in case of high blood pressure, so that it becomes normal. But according to a study, there are some high blood pressure medicines or drugs that can lead to constipation problem. A recent study claims that some medicines of hypertension may lead to a dangerous form of constipation and patients can reach the hospital.

This risk is more in the elderly. Researchers from the Imperial College in London found that diverticulosis may be due to a drug called Calcium Channel Blocker. This is a situation where small pouches are formed on the walls of the digestive tract, which are called diverticula. If these pouches burst or they are infected, then the situation can actually become dangerous. This calcium blocker helps in reducing blood pressure by blocking the supply of calcium. 

Damage from hypertension and its management

Assessment of three types of hypertension drugs

Under this study, researchers evaluated the three types of hypertension drugs and see how effective it is in the treatment of hypertension and what are the disadvantages of which drug. Researchers conducted genetic analysis for this study. That is, they focused their attention on those jeans who copied the various drugs of high blood pressure. This assessment allowed researchers to know about calcium channel blockers called non-dihydropyridine, which could lead to constipation problems called diverticulosis.
