But according to a study, there are some high blood pressure medicines or drugs that can lead to constipation problem. A recent study claims that some medicines of hypertension may lead to a dangerous form of constipation and patients can reach the hospital.
This risk is more in the elderly. Researchers from the Imperial College in London found that diverticulosis may be due to a drug called Calcium Channel Blocker. This is a situation where small pouches are formed on the walls of the digestive tract, which are called diverticula. If these pouches burst or they are infected, then the situation can actually become dangerous. This calcium blocker helps in reducing blood pressure by blocking the supply of calcium.
