Former Australia wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist questioned Harbhajan Singh’s Test hat-trick 18 years ago, after which the Indian off-spinner gave a befitting reply to Gilli in his own style. Harbhajan Singh has asked Adam Gilchrist to stop crying over his wicket in a hat-trick taken in the 2001 Kolkata Test played at the Eden Gardens.
Let us know that Harbhajan took a historic hat-trick while walking Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne for three consecutive balls in that historic match. He became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in Tests. Gilchrist was dubbed LBW out in that match, but in replays, it was told that the ball was hit on his bat first. There was no decision review system (DRS) at that time. Gilchrist wrote in tweeting, “There was no DRS at the time of Harbhajan’s hat-trick.”
Responding to this, Harbhajan wrote, ‘Do you think that if you had survived the first ball, you would have been able to stay on the wicket longer? Stop crying on this, friend. I thought that after your playing days you will talk about sensibility but some things never change and you are the best example of that. You are always crying.
Let me tell you that when Jaspreet Bumrah took a hat-trick in the second Test match against West Indies, a fan shared the video of 18-year-old Harbhajan’s hat-trick on Twitter. Fan also tagged Gilchrist in his tweet. After which this dispute started.
