Goa: 80 deaths without oxygen – BJP leader said – no government, fate responsible
Goa State BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanwade said on Monday that the Goa government cannot be held responsible for the deaths of Covid patients in the state’s premier government hospital. Tanwade’s remarks came more than a week after nearly 80 people died in five days due to lack of oxygen at the government-run Goa Medical College (GMC) located near Panaji, the state’s top hospital.
Tanwade told reporters, one cannot say that the government is responsible for Covid’s deaths.
Stressde said that to overcome the deadly viral infection, patients need timely recruitment and an element of luck, Tanwade said, if the person arrives at the right time (hospital) and if the person is lucky, it is possible to survive , But in many cases even educated people ignore the fever and once the situation worsens, they go to the hospital.
Let us know that many people have died due to lack of oxygen in Goa Medical College Hospital. The Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court had also heard the case of death of patients. The government of Goa formed a 3-member committee. This committee is investigating about the oxygen supply in GMCH.
The Goa government had lost responsibility for the death due to lack of oxygen. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Health Minister had denied that the deaths occurred due to lack of oxygen in Goa Medical College Hospital. The government says that deaths cannot be linked to lack of oxygen.
