Read Time:4 Minute, 9 Second

As per the news articles spread all over the internet, Lutyens Delhi is going to be restricted for 3 consecutive days. New Delhi is going to experience a huge event, i.e. G20 Summit. Various Government officials from different countries are going to gather in Delhi to witness the event. As confirmed by the head official of Delhi Police, the restrictions or we can say G20 summit roadblocks in Delhi are going to be held from the midnight of 7th September to 10th September.  The most important thing is that this G20 Summit 2023 is going to be one of the biggest events in India as many influential personalities from all over the world are going to attend the event. Now, let us first understand what the G20 Summit is.

G20 Summit

The G20 summit which is the talk of the town these days is an international forum. It is an important body as it incorporates 19 diverse countries and 1 EU (European Union). The forum plays a significant role in world harmony. The major objective of this G20 forum is to consider, manage, and lead global architecture and governance related to all the major climate change concerns, economic issues, and sustainability.

The council does not have a permanent headquarters or we can say secretariat. Nevertheless, the summit is serving its purpose by bringing all the members together every year to look at the major issues. Let us also mention that the G20 Summit happens with a unique theme each year.

G20 Summit 2023– The Summit 2023 will be the most high-profile global meet ever organized in India. Various leaders such as Joe Biden, US President, Vladinir Putin from Russia, and many other influential names will be going to witness this. During the G20 Summit 2023, all the representatives will discuss the designated topic for the year. One should know that this year’s theme is a phrase taken from the Maha Upanishads, which was originally written in Sanskrit. The theme is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, or we can say “One Earth · One Family · One Future.” The theme represents the need to take essential actions with responsible choices. These choices should be economically and environmentally effective- and should be taken from not an individual perspective but on a national level.

G20 Summit Roadblocks in Delhi

Talking about the G20 Summit Roadblocks in Delhi, there will be several restrictions imposed on many activities in Delhi for 3 days. The event will happen in the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre- which is a newly-built center at Pragati Maidan. According to the statements issued, all the markets, shops, shopping malls, and even metro stations are going to be closed from the 8th of September. Just near the Pragati Maidan, the Supreme Court will also be affected. A special pass will be issued to significant ones. Extra security will be employed on the borders of Delhi to prevent any unissued entry.

The officials of Delhi have requested citizens to use metro rail instead of private vehicles due to roadblocks in Delhi. One thing to be mentioned here is that the Supreme Court metro station will be closed to commuters. Let us mention all the details!

  • As mentioned above, the area of Lutyens’ Delhi will be a restricted zone. Entry and exit will be permission-based. All the bus services will not be available and only be restricted to Ring Road. As the bus services are limited, the official has advised citizens to travel via the metro.
  • The most important thing to notice is that all the stores dealing in essential items such as milk, food, vegetables, and fruits will be open.
  • All the malls and markets that are going to be closed in the NDMC area will be closed, however, there will be no restrictions beyond this particular area.
  • All the people who are coming from the Airport or have important work in the NDMC area will be required to get their official IDs with them.
  • An ambulance service is also going to be started from September 7, one can call for the ambulance at 6828400604. There will be no restrictions on medical stores as well.
  • Further, a virtual help desk will also be set up for all the tourists and delegates. The officials have stated that they will provide all the required information to all the needies.
  • In addition, vehicles carrying the essential items will be allowed to enter in Delhi.

Controlled Zone

As per various official sources, Delhi will be considered as ‘Controlled Zone-1’ from 8th to 10th September. Further, the ‘Controlled Zone-2’ includes areas such as Vikas Marg, DDU Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Hanuman Setu, Kashmere Gate, and many others. All the preparations for G20 Summit 2023 are going on with effectiveness. This event is certainly going to be huge but yes, it is making an impact on Delhi for 3 days.

So, to make your work more smooth, you should make sure that you read all the information carefully.
