FIFA 2022 Qualifier: It was not easy to stop a strong team like Qatar, but without Sunil Chhetri, India did not allow a strong defense.

FIFA 2022 Qualifier

Indian men’s football team took off against host Qatar on Tuesday in the FIFA World Cup -2022 qualifier tournament. Indian players performed well against Asian champion Qatar. However, there was a draw between the two teams.

It was not easy to stop a strong team like Qatar, but without Sunil Chhetri, India would not have allowed a goal on the strength of strong defense. Chhetri did not enter this match due to fever. Sandesh Jhingan, who was captaining him, performed his responsibility well and made a big contribution to the team in defense.

Not a single goal was scored from both the teams in half time. Although in the first half, players of both teams showed aggressive games several times, but could not manage to score goals.

The Indian team looked a bit more aggressive in the second half. In the 51st minute, he tried to end the drought of the goal on the strength of Sahal Abdul Samad, which could not be completed. In the next minute, Sahal gave Udanta a pass. Indian players could not get their shot right and the goal could not be scored.

India suffered a setback in the 56th minute. Rowlin Borges fouled on Hairdos, due to which he was given a yellow card. This was India’s second yellow card in this match. Two minutes later Qatar’s Asim Omer Al-Haj Madibo also received a yellow card.

Qatar’s team was getting restless and was making hasty mistakes. In the 70th minute, the hosts got their 11th corner of this match, but this time also the ball could not go into the net. In the 76th minute, Gurpreet disappointed Qatar once again, stopping an excellent shot from outside the box.

India could not get a chance amid Qatar’s efforts, but Udanta almost scored for their team in the 81st minute. Thapa gave the ball to his colleague Udanta, showing excellent footwork. Udanta’s luck was probably bad here as the ball came out of the goalpost very close. Both the teams, who were getting anxious for the goal, also made some changes towards the end, but the goal did not get the share of both and the match ended with a score of 0–0.
