The first T20 match between India and South Africa to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday was canceled due to rain. After heavy rains, the toss could not be tossed due to wet field and not a single ball could be thrown in the match. Due to the continuous rain, the ground was flooded a lot. The field workers, however, were trying their best to draw water from the ground so that the ground could be made playable.
But later it started raining again and then a decision was taken to cancel the match. Fans erupted on social media after the first T20 match was canceled in Dharamshala. Fans have expressed their anger on Twitter and questioned why the match was held here in this season.
Let it be said that there was rain in Dharamshala on Saturday afternoon and it continued to rain since Sunday afternoon. But the rain stopped at around three o’clock and the grounds were covered. The second match of the three-match T20 series between India and South Africa will be played in Mohali on 18 September. After this, the third match will be held in Bengaluru on 22 September. The last time a three-match T20 series was played between these two teams in 2018, then India defeated South Africa 2–1 at their home.
Now South Africa is on a tour of India to avenge the loss of the previous series. The last time South Africa visited India was in 2015. Then the three-match series was won by the visiting team 2–0, while the third match was canceled due to rain. South Africa is the only team that India has not been able to beat in the T20 International on its own soil.
