England was all out for 258 runs in 77.1 overs in the first innings on Thursday, the second day of the second Test match of the Ashes series being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. At the same time, in response to England’s 258 runs, Australia has scored 30 runs in 13 overs in their first innings till the end of Thursday’s game. Australia has lost one wicket so far.

Australia is currently 228 runs behind England. Cameron Bencraft is present at the crease by scoring five runs from 36 balls and Usman Khawaja 18 runs from 25 balls. Usman Khawaja has also rooted a four. At the same time, David Warner was bowled off Stuart Broad by scoring three runs from 17 balls.

Earlier England team managed to score 258 runs with the help of half-centuries from Rory Burns and Johnny Bairstow. Rory Burns scored 53 and Johnny Bairstow scored 52 runs. On the first day of the match, rain fell. After this, Australia won the toss on the second day and decided to bowl first.

England started very poorly and their team went on to lose wickets, due to which they could not score big. The highest partnership of 72 runs was seen for the seventh wicket between Chris Woakes and Bairstow. During this time Chris Woakes scored 32 runs. Apart from this, a partnership of 66 runs was seen for the third wicket between Joey Denly (30) and Burns.

Burns completed the third half-century of his career with seven fours off 127 balls, while Bairstow hit the 21st half of his career by hitting seven fours in 95 balls. Apart from these, captain Joe Root 14 runs, Ben Stokes 13 runs, Jose Butler 12, Joffra Archer 12, Stuart Broad 11 runs returned to the pavilion. With this, Jack Leach scored an unbeaten six runs. Australia’s Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Josh Hazlewood took three and Peter Seidle took one wicket each.
