An Earthquake of magnitude above five on richter scale struck Myanmar today
Yangon, agencies. Earthquake tremors were felt in Myanmar at 08:19 am on Monday. The earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, EMSC) reported that the earthquake measured 4.7 of the quake 132 kilometers east of Tuensang in Nagaland.

The Meteorological Department said that tremors were also felt in Dibrugarh, Dimapur Sadar, Imphal, Nagaon and Silchar areas of India. Earlier, lightning tremors were felt in Manipur on August 17. The earthquake intensity was then recorded at 2.9.

The earthquake was also felt in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific Ocean, according to the Xinhua news agency.
The report states that its intensity was recorded at 5.3 on the Richter scale in the northeast, 36 km from the Bulala region.
The US Geological Survey has reported that the epicenter was at a depth of 55 kilometers in latitude 7.92 and 159.34 degrees east longitude. However, a tsunami warning was not issued given its low intensity.

According to the news agency Xinhua, a magnitude 1.8 quake in Clear Lake, Colombia, a magnitude 3.2 in Hetatoba-Tarutung, northern Sumatra, a very mild tremor were felt in Katla in southern Iceland.
