The first consignment of 2-DG, the new Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), which is considered to be very important in the war against the Corona epidemic, will be released to patients on Monday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will hand over 10 thousand sachets of deoxy-D glucose (2-DG) to Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. This drug has been found very helpful for coronas infected with oxygen deficiency. Not only this, it also helps in quick recovery of patients.

This drug is in the form of powder, which can be dissolved in water. This drug developed by DRDO is being prepared by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory at Hyderabad. Drug regulator Indian Drug Controller General DCGI has also approved the emergency use of this new drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG). The DRDO states that the drug can be given to patients with coronas in moderate and severely infected patients during hospital treatment.

Given the havoc of Corona, DRDO may also allow some other companies to produce this drug on a larger scale. The Defense Ministry says that the RTPCR report of most of the patients treated with 2-DG came back negative. Not only this, rapid signs of disease were seen in those patients. This drug can now be used to treat patients with moderate to severe symptoms.

At the same time, DRDO claims that fast recovery was seen in the patients who were tried on this drug. Not only this, the dependence on oxygen of patients also decreased. DRDO scientists say that this drug helps hospitalized patients recover faster and also reduces the dependence of excess oxygen. This has been confirmed in the Phase III trial of the drug. This trial has yielded good results.
