Delhi Metro Service News: DMRC is going to make this big change, the journey of millions of passengers will be easy
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation trains are now working to remove technical gaps like breakdowns and also to keep the metro’s signaling system intact. Whether or not the signal system works properly during the operation of the metro trains or how to correct the signal fault? DMRC continues to churn on this. To overcome this problem, DMRC has installed sensor based remote health monitoring system. Work is going on at a rapid pace. This biggest feature will be that all the signals on the metro lines can be monitored from the control room itself. Along with this, it can also be found from the control room that on which route of metro and at which place there has been a technical fault in the signal.
First system will be installed on magenta line
According to Delhi Metro officials, DMRC has also started the tender process to install a center based remote health monitoring system. According to an estimate, the project would cost a total of Rs 1.5 crore. During this time, the entire project will take almost a year. It is believed that the system will start functioning by the end of next year. It is also getting information that the remote health monitoring system will first be installed on the magenta line of the metro between Janakpuri West to Botanical Gardens.
24 hours monitoring
According to the metro officials, the remote health monitoring system can monitor the signals round the clock, sitting in the control room. Especially the electrical parameters of point machine and signal panel etc. can also be checked from a certain place. And if possible, it can be corrected or it can be reported to the nearest technical team immediately. During this time, an alert message can be sent to the duty staff or in-charge on the spot for maintenance.
Why did the need arise
During the last few years, technical gaps in the trains operated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation have increased. Once, the Pink Line of the Delhi Metro came to a standstill for several hours. In the year 2019, the most frequently reported technical flaws in metro trains. This flaw occurred during peak hours. At the same time, now DMRC officials say that many types of equipment are installed in the signaling system for metro operations. Signals fail many times during the running of the metro. This obviously has an impact on metro operations. The metro has always intended to provide the best services to its passengers.
Quality of remote health monitoring system
- The remote health monitoring system will work online.
- Potential faults can also be corrected by sitting in the control room.
- Sensors will be installed in the outdoor equipment of the signal system under the remote health monitoring system.
- They will then provide real time and more accurate data through optical fiber.
- This system will automatically record and send data to the control room.
