In the year 1944, World War II was at its peak, in front of the barbaric torture of the Nazis, there was a situation in front of the countries of Europe struggling for its existence. All the Allies including the United States, Britain, and France wanted to end the Second World War in some way. In June 1944, one million 56 thousand soldiers from allied countries participated in the largest military operation against the German army. These soldiers of the United States, Britain, Canada, and the Free French Forces, on June 6, 1944, secretly infiltrated through the sea on the coastal area of ​​Normandy, northern France. This land was under the occupation of Germany. It is known as the largest seaborne invasion in history against the Nazis. One of the biggest and most historic military operations of World War II, this operation is known as D-Day D-Day.

This joint military campaign, known as Operation Overlord, is a turning point given to World War II. This was the first stage of the attack on Nazi occupation Europe. It was named Operation Neptune. Its purpose was to end the second world war. All three armies (army, navy and air force) took part in this campaign. According to the figures of the D-Day Museum of Portsmouth, 4413 of the Allies and 9 000 soldiers of Germany were killed in this campaign launched against the Nazi soldiers. It was only for this campaign that Allied forces succeeded in reclaiming their feet on France. Since then, World War II has got a turning point. Later Soviet troops from the East also attacked, with Hitler’s stronghold of Berlin moving from his hands. As a result, within the next 11 months, Nazi Germany was defeated.

One year after the war of Normandy

In October, the Allies chased the landslide of the Philippines, which lost to Japan. This is not the case of defeat, not only did Japan take possession of the territory called Okinawa of Thumayu Ryukyu Islands, which was in its possession for 75 years. On August 6, the United States dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima city of Japan for the first time in human history during the war. The second atom bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki three days later, after which Japan surrendered on September 2, 1945. With this, the six years of World War II ended formally.
