Covid-19 vaccine shows side effects on 447 patients: Ministry of Health

After the corona virus vaccine was given to the people from January 16, there were reports of its side effects from some areas.

On Sunday, the Union Health Ministry gave a news conference and said that after giving Corona virus vaccination, on January 16 and 17, 447 AEFI (Adverse Event Followed Immunization) reports have been made.

Union Health Secretary Dr. Manohar Agnani said that its adverse effect was of minor level in most of the cases.

If someone has to be hospitalized after vaccination, it is recorded in Serious AFI.

Covid 19 vaccine side efffect He told that only three such cases occurred in which people had to be hospitalized.

According to him, in one of these cases, who were admitted to Northern Railway Hospital, they have been discharged within 24 hours. At the same time, another patient has also been discharged from AIIMS Delhi. While the third patients are in AIIMS Rishikesh and their condition is also good.

Regarding the side effects of the vaccine, he told that in most of the cases people complained of mild fever, headache and nausea.

Vaccine given to more than two lakh people in first two days

The Health Secretary stated that “2,07,229 people have been vaccinated on the first day. This is the highest number of vaccines in any country on the first day. India was ahead of America, Britain and France in this matter.”

“On the second day the vaccine was given in six states. A total of 553 sessions were conducted in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur and Tamil Nadu. On Sunday, around 17 thousand people have been vaccinated.”

During this, the Health Secretary informed that a total of two lakh 24 thousand people have been vaccinated in the first two days.

300 million people will get vaccine in the first phase

Significantly, in the first phase, there is a plan to apply corona virus vaccine to 300 million people. There will be two doses of this vaccine. In this, the difference between the first dose and the second dose will be 21 to 28 days.

Dr Priti Kumar, vice-president of the Public Health Foundation, Told that after giving the vaccine, there is a slight fever, headache or pain at the site of injection. He said that if a vaccine is effective up to 50%, then it is considered successful.

According to Dr. Preeti Kumar, the effect starts after 10-14 days of the first dose and it goes on increasing.

However, he says that it is necessary to apply a mask even after applying the vaccine. She says the Covid 19 vaccine is an additional safety measure. Social distance, masks and other measures to avoid the virus will be necessary even after getting the vaccine.
