Saudi Arabia on Thursday suspended the visas of pilgrims wishing to visit Mecca due to fears of coronavirus. The Ministry of External Affairs has given information about this.
The statement issued by the ministry said that the government is temporarily suspending entry into the state and temporarily visiting the Prophet’s mosque for the purpose of Umrah. There is a mention of the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca which can be done at any time of the year.
Umrah attracts thousands of Muslims from all over the world every month. The Foreign Ministry said it is also suspending visas for tourists from countries where the new virus is a threat.
