Coronavirus News: Tough to come out of China hotel after 69 hours, 20 dead

A 69-year-old boy trapped in a hotel wreck in Fujian province of China has been taken out alive.

Beijing, AP. As many as 20 people have died since the collapse of a facility that kept patients suspected of coronavirus in southeastern China’s Fujian province. Amidst all this, 69-year-old Sasha, who was trapped in the rubble, has been taken out alive.

According to the official Xinhua news agency, he was immediately sent to the hospital after being removed from the debris late on Tuesday. Since Saturday’s accident, 9 people are still missing. Earlier, a 10-year-old boy and his mother were rescued alive from the debris on Monday midnight after being trapped for 52 hours. Currently, the condition of the three people has not been informed.

According to government media, the Shinjia Hotel had been in operation since 2018 and had 80 rooms. The hotel building fell at around 7.30 pm local time. A preliminary investigation has revealed that work was going on at the hotel when the accident took place. The police have taken the hotel owner into custody.
