Coronavirus Lockdown: 5 lakh farmers of Jharkhand did not get 2-2 thousand PM Kisan even in times of crisis
Coronavirus Lockdown In view of the present crisis of Corona, the Government of India has started paying the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan) this financial year from April 1. An installment of two thousand rupees has been reached in the account of 17.50 thousand farmers on April 1. By the end of this month, this installment will reach the account of all the 15.50 lakh registered farmers under the PM Kisan Yojana, so that they can purchase the required items during the lock down and beyond. Its worrying aspect is that there are about 5.5 lakh farmers of Jharkhand who are still deprived of this benefit. This situation has arisen due to Aadhaar number, photograph, name-address etc. not matching with their account.
The State Government had sent the details of more than 21 lakh farmers of Jharkhand to the Central Government, these were considered to be the real beneficiaries of the PM farmer. Later, in the order of verification done from the central government level, the record of six lakh farmers was not updated. The names inscribed on the basis of most farmers were not found matching their bank account names. Bank account and IFS code was also wrong in some. In such a situation, they were denied benefits, placing them in the category of rejects. The state government was expected to update these records and send them back.
Three lakh farmers data updated
According to Agriculture Department sources, out of the six lakh farmers whose data was rejected on the basis of the discrepancy, more than three lakhs have been verified and sent to the Central Government in the last four months. Despite this, the Central Government has not yet included him in the list of beneficiaries of PM Kisan. However, the data of more than 2.5 lakh farmers is yet to be updated. This work is completely closed these days during the lock down period.
