Coronavirus LIVE Updates: 39 new cases confirmed on Japanese cruise, the number of patients increased to 174

39 new cases have been confirmed aboard the Diamond Princess cruise standing off the coast of Yokohama, Japan. Japan’s Health Minister Katsunobu Kato gave this information on Wednesday. According to the news agency AFP, there have been 174 reported cases on the cruise. He said 39 cases out of 53 have been confirmed. The condition of four of them remains critical. He also said that some officers stationed there have also been infected. Let us know that the number of people who died of Corona virus in China increased to 1,110 on Wednesday. 44,200 people are infected with this virus.

45 cases reported in Singapore

Expressing concern over an outbreak of the Corona virus, South Korea and Israel have advised their citizens not to travel to Singapore, where the first case of the deadly virus was confirmed on 10 February. So far 45 cases have been reported here. 

Many countries issued advisory

The CNA reported that Indonesia and Taiwan have advised their people to exercise caution when visiting Singapore, while Kuwait and Qatar have also issued travel advisories. Both countries have urged citizens to postpone non-essential travel to the country in view of the epidemic.

49 cases were reported in Hong Kong. 

According to the news agency PTI, China’s Health Commission said that 8,204 patients are in critical condition and 16,067 people are suspected to be infected with the virus. A total of 4,740 people were discharged from the hospital. As of late Tuesday, there have been 49 reported cases, including one death in Hong Kong, 10 in Macau and 18 in Taiwan.

Virus named ‘COVID-19’

According to news agency AFP, 94 people died in Hubei province on Tuesday. However, 1,638 new cases have been reported. Let us know that the virus spread from Hubei itself in December. The virus was officially named ‘COVID-19’ at a conference in Geneva organized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
