Moscow, agency. Hundreds of Russian civilians trapped in India due to Corona virus will be taken back to their country on Wednesday. The Air Transport Authority reported that civilians would be withdrawn via Russian airlines today.
A Russian government agency, Rosavatsiya, said in its statement that an Aeroflot aircraft has been flown from Sheremetyo Airport to Delhi late on 24 March. It is expected that 350 citizens will be able to return to their country through this. Apart from this, on March 25, an aircraft from Russia will also leave for stranded passengers in Goa.
A tweet from the Russian Embassy in India states that a flight FV5672 from Roshia will depart from Goa at 11.45 am (according to Indian time). This means that it will leave at 6.15 pm according to Russia’s time. Diplomatic sources told Sputnik that Aeroflot’s Flight SU 5071 would fly from New Delhi at 6:30 am.
According to sources, thousands of Indian citizens are present in India, including Delhi and Goa, besides the northern cities of Vrindavan and Rishikesh. Rosavatsiya asked Russian nationals trapped abroad to contact Russian embassies before 26 March. It is working on bringing back citizens from Egypt and Latin America.
