Coronavirus Affects Diabetes How does this virus spread to certain types of people and how should it be treated? Scientists are looking for answers to all these questions.

New Delhi, Lifestyle Desk. Coronavirus Affects Diabetes: Ever since the corona virus, or Kovid-19, has been detected in Wuhan city of China six months ago, scientists and health researchers from around the world have been gathering more and more information about the virus. Although, new information about it comes every day, but its treatment or vaccine is still not made.

How this virus spreads, does it affect only certain types of people and how should it be treated, scientists are looking for answers to all these questions.

Over time, researchers have gained a great deal of information about the corona virus, however, many of these questions are still not answered. For example, the virus may prove fatal to people already suffering from Gambhuri disease, especially for diabetic patients. Is the risk higher for both type-1 and type-2 diabetic people?

How does COVID-19 affect diabetes patients?

Kovid-19 is a new disease, so many things about it are still not known. No such evidence has been revealed so far, which can be said that this virus can prove fatal for a diabetes patient. Despite this, diabetes is a disease that increases blood sugar levels, which weakens the immune system, and thus increases the risk of the body becoming infected. Therefore, it is not wrong to say that the risk for diabetes patients is high, but no such case has been reported so far.

Diabetes patients are very high in India, so we can expect that those infected with the corona virus will also have diabetes. The risk of diabetic patients getting infected with the corona virus is as high as the rest, however, if a diabetic patient is found to be corona virus positive, their condition can be serious.

Are Type-1 and Type-2 Diabetes the Same Risk?

There is a significant difference between type-1 and type-2 diabetes. Type-1 diabetes is highly deficient in insulin. Without insulin the level of glucose present in the blood can increase significantly, so such people have to resort to insulin for life. At the same time, insulin is present in the body in TIP-2 diabetes, but it does not work properly. Therefore, the treatment of both these types of diabetes is also quite different. No such study has been revealed so far, which can be said that the corona virus affects differently in both types of diabetes.

Type-1 diabetes is lacking in insulin, so kidney failure and eye damage may occur, whereas type-2 is less likely to complicate.

Does coronavirus show distinct symptoms in a diabetic patient?

The symptoms and effects of the corona virus are seen in the same way as in diabetic patients, as in others. However, the ability of a diabetic patient to fight against any infection is impaired, so the consequences can be quite severe.
