Had cough fever and shortness of breath
IGIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Manish Mandal told that the eight-year-old child, resident of Chhapra, had a cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Was admitted to an emergency on 22 May. No corona has been infected in his family so far. The child also had negative RT-PCR and antigen reports. Whereas the score of CT scan was 22/25 i.e. 90 percent of the lungs of the child had been infected with Covid.
Corona infection has more effect on the lungs of children
Generally, in corona infection, the child’s lungs reduce or stop working due to infection. At the same time, this child had infection in liver and kidney along with lungs. This put his life in danger. Considering this as a possibility of the third stage of Kovid, doctors started treatment with remdesivir, steroid nebulization in addition to antibiotics at 16 liters per minute of oxygen
Now the condition of the child is better than before
In view of the new form of infection, the child was treated in a separate room of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Now the child is out of danger and has started eating. Liver and kidney have become normal and lung infection has also reduced significantly. Oxygen flow has also been reduced from 16 liters per minute to eight.
