The long runner survivor of the Helicopter crash in Coonoor Group Captain Varun Singh also lost the battle of life and had passed away. He was only the survivor of the Mi17 V5 helicopter that got crashed on 8 December.
He was undergoing treatment at Command Hospital, Bengaluru where he was put on life support. In the Coonoor accident, Bipin Rawat along with 13 people lost their life.

On Wednesday, Air Force gave the information by tweeting. Indian Air Force through the tweet communicated and said it is very sad to inform that Group Captain Varun Singh has passed away today during treatment. He was a survivor of the accident. The Air Force expresses its deepest condolences on his passing and stands firmly with his family.
