To improve the financial condition of BSNL ,the Department of Telecommunication has ordered to stop all types of expenses

To improve the financial condition of BSNL. The Department of Telecommunication has asked the Government Telecom Company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to stop all kinds of contracts and orders for purchasing. Considering the financial crisis facing the company, it is believed that the department has given this order. According to official sources, the Finance Department of BSNL has issued an order on June 12, in which all the divisional heads have been instructed to get permission from the corporate office of Delhi before releasing the tender for any capital expenditure.

BSNL is going through temporary financial pressure

An official of BSNL told the PTI to the condition of not disclosing the name, The order was issued to the board heads of the company on June 12. It said that BSNL is going through temporary financial pressure. In such a situation, he is not in a position to settle the entire liability. He said that the Finance Department of BSNL has been instructed to stop all capital expenditure from the Finance Department of the Department of Telecom. In order, BSNL officials have been asked to stop the advance purchase order and the final purchase order issued contract purchase orders till the next order.

BSNL had achieved operating profit of Rs 672 crore in 2014-15

BSNL had achieved operating profit of Rs 672 crore in 2014-15. After this, it achieved operating profit of Rs 3,885 crore in 2015-16 and Rs 1,684 crore in 2016-17. After the arrival of a new telecom company like Reliance jio, BSNL has to face revenue pressure like other companies. While promoters of private sector telecom companies are investing thousands of crores, BSNL is waiting for the allocation of 4G spectrum from the government for competition. BSNL has sought the government’s approval to raise cash by selling the available land to him but no decision was taken from the government
