After winning last year’s Best Actor National Award for Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal came with his first horror film Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship last week. Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, the film is receiving lukewarm response from the audience.
Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship received a decent opening at the box office as it earned Rs 5.1 crore on Friday. The weekend saw no improvement in the collection with the film earning Rs 5.52 crore and Rs 5.74 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The collection drastically dropped on Monday with the film making just Rs 2.32 crore. Tuesday was not different and the film earned Rs 2.1 crore. On Wednesday, it minted Rs 1.85 crore. The film is expected to earn Rs 1.5 crore on Thursday.
Vicky Kaushal is playing the role of Prithvi, who investigates a haunted abandoned ship docked at a Mumbai beach. Bhumi Pednekar is playing the role of Vicky’s wife. Ashutosh Rana is a surprise element in the film who plays the role of Professor Joshi.
Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship is receiving mixed response from the critics and audiences alike. As its box office numbers suggest, the film has performed poorer than Vicky’s last release Uri: The Surgical Strike, which broke many box office records.
Going by the numbers, it seems, Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship will struggle to cross the Rs 25-crore mark this week.
