Around 50 children, including 30 girls and 20 boys, are arriving at the tuition center from villages around Sopore. In this tuition center, children from ninth to twelfth are being taught.
Nelofar Rashid, a ninth-grader, said that his studies were being affected due to the schools being stopped after the Kovid-19 epidemic. “We are thankful to the Army that they provided us free tuition. They said that they are being prepared for board exams at the Army’s tuition center to complete the ninth grade incomplete studies as well.
This initiative is done by the Ningli Army Camp of Apalona Rifles Battalion located in Hyderbeg sector. The military officer said that the teachers teaching in this tuition center are locals. Five local teachers with vast experience in other subjects including English, Social Science, Mathematics, Science, Urdu have been selected to teach these children. Hilal Ahmed said, “I am teaching Urdu here, they do not have to pay any fees to study here.
Not only this, the final test will be taken on completion of the course. Free stationery is also being provided by the army to all the children coming to the center. Necessary guidelines regarding the corona are also being strictly followed here. Temperatures are checked daily, arrangements for face masks, hand sanitizers have also been provided.
Not only this, the whole class is also sanitized well before the class starts. The locals appreciated the move of the army and said that due to these free tuition centers, the poor and needy children of the area are benefiting greatly. Most of them are children who are very good in studies but due to financial constraints they were hindered in continuing their studies. The army has not only saved their future from being plunged into darkness, but has given them a chance to progress towards success in life.
At the same time, Army in kashmir said that his war against the anti-national elements who are creating unrest in Kashmir is continuing, but in the meantime they take such steps from time to time to strengthen the relationship between the army and the common people. He said that due to these works done in the interest of the people, the relations between the army and the common people have been strengthened. It will be his endeavor to continue to help the local people in the same way.
