Anna Hazare openly supports farmers, warns of ‘mass movement’, like Lokpal
Social activist Anna Hazare came out in support of farmer protests on Thursday and warned the central government that if the demands of the farmers remain unheard, they will start a ‘mass movement’. In support of the farmers, Anna Hazare said that the then Congress government was shaken during the ‘Lokpal movement’. I see the opposition of these farmers on the same lines. Anna further said that on the day of Bharat Bandh done by the farmers, I fasted for a day in my village in Ralegan-Siddhi. I have full support on the demands of the farmers.
He said that if the government does not accept the demands of the farmers, then I will once again sit for the ‘Jan Andolan’, which will be similar to the Lokpal movement.
Explain that in the last few months, thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, have been opposing three new agricultural laws, which they think can be exploited by the private sector to buy their crops at low prices.
Highlighting the important role of farmers in the country, Anna Hazare said that no law can be approved against a farmer in a country, which is highly dependent on agriculture. If the government does so, then the movement against it is justified. Significantly, the farmers called for a Bharat Bandh on 8 December.
Farmers warn of dharna on railway tracks
On the other hand, farmers protesting on the Singhu border have once again warned the Government of India. Farmer leader Buta Singh said that the strike is still going on in front of toll plazas, malls, Reliance pumps, BJP leaders’ offices and homes in Punjab. Apart from this, dharna will be allowed outside all the DC offices of Punjab on 14th. Along with this, the farmer leader said that we had given an ultimatum of the 10th that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not listen to our words and did not repeal the laws then all the dharna would come on the railway track. In today’s meeting, it was decided that now people from all over India will go on the railway track. Samyukta Kisan Manch will announce its date soon.
