United States Solders in Afghanistan

Washington, Agency. The United States is preparing to bring back its five thousand soldiers from Afghanistan. This process is part of the initial peace agreement with the United States and the Taliban. This information came out in the context of a media report. However, the White House has responded to this news report, saying that the withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan is based on the latest political conditions and conditions of that country. He said that he is unaware of such a decision.

White House official had given a report to The Washington Post that the Trump administration would cut the number of troops in Afghanistan. The US administration is preparing to reduce the number of 14,000 troops currently present in Afghanistan to 9,000 or 8,000. Meanwhile, a Pentagon spokesman told The Washington Post that the Defense Department has not been ordered to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The US Department of Defense said that our strategy in Afghanistan is based on the situation. Our soldiers will be based on the current situation in Afghanistan there. Their numbers will also be ensured on the same basis.

The Department said that we have not been ordered to reduce the number of force.
This report of the media has come to the fore, when one day earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appeared to be back from his statement regarding the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan before the 2020 US presidential election. He had said that there is no time limit for the withdrawal of the US Army. This decision will be taken in view of the situation in Afghanistan’s ground level. This statement by the External Affairs Minister came between the ongoing negotiations between the US and the Taliban.

Significantly, US special envoy Jalme Khaliljad is currently in Afghanistan. They are in peace talks with the Taliban so that the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan can be reached.
