The US has declared 12 people, including the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Noor Wali Mehsud, as global terrorists and banned many ‘terrorists and their supporters.
US President Donald Trump issued an executive order a day before the 9/11 anniversary to expand his administration’s ability to capture suspected terrorists and the people and supporters who provided financial aid to them.
The US State Department said in a press release, Hajbullah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, ISIS, ISIS-Philippines, ISIS-Western Africa, Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan in the list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT) with Mehsud Leaders of previously designated terrorist organizations such as “In addition to these actions the Department of Treasury has ISIS-Philippines, ISIA -Khorasan, al-Qaeda, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Hamas and Iran have named the 15 terrorists involved in Corps-Quds Force.
As reported by Don News, Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo said in a press conference, President Trump’s executive order will further strengthen America’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Pompeo said the order would effectively target people and groups involved in terrorist training and provide new powers to ban foreign financial institutions that knowingly trade with suspected terrorists.
