The film was directed by Jayatirtha. Rishabh Shetty and Haripriya played the lead roles in the film. The film was very much liked to show the 80s beautifully among the people. The scripting of the film is going on and the shooting of the film will start by the end of 2019.

Akshay said no remake

While the film is being called a Kannada remake in source, Akshay Kumar has denied this. On Akshay’s post, a Twitter user asked if this film is a remake of Kannada movie. Responding to this, Akshay tweeted and said – Bell Bottom is not a remake of any film. This is an original screenplay based on true events.
