Congress Protest against Agnipath Scheme: Alerts of Bharat Bandh

New Delhi : Many organizations are prepared to go on strike today naming it as Bharat Bandh against the protest. There is no organization that came forward till now but the police authority is ready to deal with it. The administration has mentioned that strict action will be taken against those who spread violence.

The protest has not come to end rather it is increasing like fire. Many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Punjab are under special vigilance and alerts have been issued in various states.

It was mentioned by Congress that party workers in lakhs will hold a protest without violence against the Agnipath Scheme. During the protest, Delhi Police misbehaved and harassed many of the Members of Parliament against the questioning of Rahul Gandhi will be brought to notice.

Role of Police Authorities

The police authorities have increased their security system as there are chances that people will break out suddenly on the streets of the states. If there will be a need then the deployment of additional police force have been directed. Many schools and colleges have been closed in the state as a precautionary measure. In the 20 districts of the state, there is ban on internet services.

In Noida, section 144 has been already in force in Gautam Budhha Nagar. Haryana Police is also fully prepared to deal with any kind of violence during the Bandh and the general public is requested to refrain from spreading any rumours. Flights were disrupted and many metro stations were closed due to the protest.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary tweeted on 19^th June 2022, “Tomorrow lakhs of Congress workers across the country will hold a peaceful protest against the Agnipath Scheme and against the targeting of Rahul Gandhi.” He also mentioned that there will be a meeting with Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India in the evening mentioning the misbehavior done with the MPs.

35 Whatsapp Groups were found to be responsible in spreading the disruption against Agnipath Scheme. Fake news were spread on WhatsApp against the Agnipath Scheme all around the country. 10 of the people who were playing the mastermind role in this riot has been arrested. Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police have been put on high alert due to the Bharat Bandh protest.

Clarification by the Army

The Army clarified after the spread of the new against the scheme that no changes have been made in the army regimental system. The scheme will continue as it was mentioned as the scheme is implemented after consultations with present and previous army officers.
