Pratip Chaudhuri, Former SBI Chairman Caught in Bank Loan Scam, Now Got Bailed from Jail
SBI ex-chairman Pratip Chaudhuri who was caught in a loan scam from his residence got bailed on Tuesday. He was caught by the cops in the case of connection with a loan case of the hotel in Jaisalmer.
The Loan scam pertains to the property owned by Godawan Group who took a loan of 24 Crore to construct a hotel. The Pratip Chaudhary was surrounded by allegations which include the property worth 200 crores. The property was sold for 25 crores after the bank seized them for defaulting on the loan.
On Tuesday, Pratip Chaudhuri is granted bail by the Jaisalmer Court. On November 1, he was sent to court for 14 days. The Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court in Jaisalmer in an alleged loan scam, the bank issued a clarification. Jaisalmer District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Singh told ANI that a non-bailable warrant was issued against Chaudhuri by the Jaisalmer Police on orders of the Jaisalmer court and he was arrested from his Delhi residence on Sunday and bought to Jaisalmer.
The promoter Harendra Singh Rathore had launched a protest petition in a Jaisalmer court alleging conflict of interest against Chaudhuri after the initial FIR filed in 2015 was closed after the Rajasthan police said it was a civil matter.
The Jodhpur bench on Tuesday granted a stay of order dated and all consequential orders passed by the chief judicial magistrate of Jaisalmer in a hearing of the petition and directors.
