Doctor KK Aggarwal’s death questions arising from him, why did the vaccine die after two doses?
Renowned cardiologist Dr. KK Aggarwal, who was awarded the Padma Shri, died on Monday. He was undergoing treatment for Kovid-19 at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.
But late Monday night he lost the battle to Corona. He had taken both doses of the vaccine. He had taken more than 15 days for the second dose.
Even after this happened with Dr. KK Aggarwal, it is a shocking matter on its own.
It is worth mentioning that in India, only two vaccines have been approved by the government, Kovishield (Indian name of AstraZeneca) and Kovaxin. Sputnik-V will be available soon.
The vaccine is the only solution
Before proceeding to the discussion, it must be remembered that according to scientists, vaccination is the only effective way to prevent virus infection. The aim of this report is not to raise doubts about the vaccine at all. The only purpose of this is to warn you that after applying the vaccine, follow all the precautions.
The facts about the corona vaccine so far have been kept by the Indian government and the vaccine manufacturers, it shows that even if you have a corona infection 15 days after two doses of the vaccine, then go to the hospital, ICU and ventilator Will not reach to reach.
Till last month, it was being said from the Indian government that the vaccine is the only way to prevent death.
AstraZeneca’s website claims in a clear statement that “the results of the Phase-3 trial of the vaccine have found that the vaccine provides you with 100 percent protection from serious infection, hospitalization, and death of Kovid-19.”
Because of this, those who were getting corona infection after the vaccine also advocated the introduction of the vaccine.
Death after vaccine
Doctor KK Aggarwal is not alone among the losers of Corona after two doses of the vaccine.
According to the statistics of the Indian Medical Association, 269 doctors have lost their lives in the second wave of the corona, although they have not clarified how many of these doctors are those who had taken both doses of the vaccine.
It is also worth noting here that the Government of India started a vaccination campaign against Corona on 16 January 2021. In the first phase, vaccines were given to health workers and frontline workers on a priority basis.
On this basis, it can be assumed that most of the health workers have received both vaccines so far.
Government of India
For this reason, after the death of Doctor KK Aggarwal, questions are arising that even after both the doses of the vaccine, what is the risk of death?
How many such deaths have occurred in India so far? The same question was asked in the press conference on Tuesday.
Lav Agarwal, joint secretary in the Union Ministry of Health, responded by saying, “The risk of getting infected with the corona after taking the vaccine is very low. The data from the vaccine AffikC also says that only a small percentage of people get the infection. The danger occurs even after vaccination. Statistics show that this has happened to very few people in India. ICMR has previously shared data of such infections. “
NITI Aayog member VK Paul said in response to this that in the next press conference, we will share detailed data about this.
The BBC also found the ICMR data that Luv Aggarwal was referring to. On 21 April 2021, ICMR Director General Balaram Bhargava presented the statistics on the causes of infection after vaccination in a press conference.
Actually, even after vaccination, if you get a corona infection, then it is called a ‘breakthrough infection’.
Balaram Bhargava told the press conference based on the data, “There are 2-3 cases per 10 thousand vaccinations that have become infected even after vaccination. Such cases are slightly higher than those of amoxicillin. But overall they are very rare in the entire vaccination process and do not have to be worried about it. “
These figures include both the first and second dose post-infection cases. It was also told that the risk of such infection in health workers and frontline workers is higher than in others. But in this press conference, how many people died in India after taking both vaccine doses were not told.
A small survey on breakthrough infection was also done by Fortis Hospital in India. Of the 113 staff who took two doses of the vaccine, 15 of them had a corona infection even after being vaccinated. Only one of this required hospitalization.

Breakthrough infection cases in America
Cases of breakthrough infections are not found only in India. By 26 April 2021, 95 million people had been vaccinated in the US. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Efficiency vs Effectiveness
Dr Sanjay Rai of AIIMS, Delhi says, “Not only America, but other countries of the world have also seen cases of ‘breakthrough infection’ after vaccination. So two doses of the vaccine and 100 days of death after 15 days That doesn’t justify right now. “
But why is it happening that the vaccine trial has other results while the actual results are being seen some more?
To this, doctor Sanjay Rai says, “The case is about Efficiency vs Effectiveness. The efficiency of the vaccine means to what extent the vaccine provides protection from the virus. Anyway, no vaccine has claimed 100% Efficiency yet. “The circumstances in the trial are controlled when extracting the affinity data. Both the volunteers involved in the trial and the people applying the vaccine fully understand the point.”
Dr. Rai explains, “The effectiveness (effectiveness) of a vaccine is actually revealed when it is applied to a large population. Then there is no control over both the vaccine and the vaccine. Neither does the vaccine transport.” While doing this, while storing it, there is the kind of control that is possible during a trial. This is the reason why vaccine efficacy is always less likely to cause vaccine efficacy. “
Probable cause
The central government says that ICMR is keeping an eye on cases of death after two doses of the vaccine.
The ICMR data on deaths due to corona infection in India is updated only, there is a column of those who died or whether they have taken the vaccine or not.
Many other experts also believe that the Government of India should do research on this and make the results public soon. In case of delay, reluctance to take vaccine will promote such cases.
Doctor Sanjay Rai says, “The government needs to find out more about which variants of Corona were infected by such people? What kind of disease did they already have? After the vaccine their living, meeting and getting What was the rest of the routine, what profession are such people associated with, whose exposure was it? “
Dr. Sanjay supports his point with facts.
He points out that it has a scientific basis that the B.1.351 variant of the covshield virus (also called the South Africa variant) is not effective in patients with less severe symptoms. In South Africa, its trial was conducted on about 2000 youth (aged 30 years), after which South Africa also banned the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The government has not yet shared any explanation for why this is happening in India.
But Arvind Kumar of Medanta Hospital, who is treating other patients of this disease, says there could be three possible reasons behind this.
- It is possible that nobodies (immunity to fight the virus) have not been made in the right amount in people after being vaccinated.
- It is also possible that if the antibodies were made, it was definitely not powerful enough to compete with the virus in the body.
- The third reason may be that the variant (strain) that caused the corona infection, the vaccine nobody, is ineffective on it.
However, Dr. Arvind also says to wait for the results of research on this. Also add that I do not mean to say that after getting the vaccine, people should immediately go to check their antibodies. Antibody alone cannot be the sole measure of virus protection.
