Light metro and neo metro can run in Delhi too, know here - their characteristics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday flagged off the country’s first driverless metro in Delhi through video conferencing. With this, the driver’s metro ran between the Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West on the 37 km long Magenta Line. The PM also launched the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), which will be used on the Airport Express line. He said that India has joined select countries in the world, which have the facility of driverless metro. After this, people will also get the facility of light, neo and water metro. Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were also present during the program. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned Neo Metro, Light Metro and Water Metro, which will be seen running in all the cities of India in the coming days. Let us know what is the difference between the three metros.

Light metro

The corridor of this metro is on the ground parallel to the road and the station is like a bus stand. A 21.7 km metro light corridor is proposed between Rithala to Narela in Delhi. It will have three to four coaches. 300 passengers can travel in the three-coach metro. The wheels of the metro have rubber.

Neo Metro

It will be lighter than the metro light and will be like a tram. It is proposed to build a corridor of Neo Metro from Kirti Nagar to Dwarka Sector 25 in Delhi. Earlier Light Metro was the only project. Later the Ministry of Urban Development has proposed to change it to construct Neo Metro. The length of this corridor will be 19 kilometers. It can also be called a metro bus.

Water metro

Water metro runs on water, which is like a boat to see. Once the water metro starts in Kochi, 50 to 100 passengers will be able to travel at a time.

Delhi will become modern and magnificent

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the coming time every small and big city is going to be a big center of the country’s economy. Delhi is the capital of the world’s largest economic and strategic force with a population of 130 crores. Therefore, the modernity here should show its grandeur. The government will work together to make it modern and grand. If 21st century India is creating a new identity in the world, then its grandeur should be seen in Delhi, it is very important.

Efforts are being made to modernize Delhi

PM Modi said that there are challenges as being a very old city, but in the midst of it, identity of modernity has to be given. Many efforts are being made to give Delhi a modern look. The government has given tax exemption on purchases to promote electric vehicles. Efforts are being made to regularize hundreds of colonies or to provide government accommodation to slum dwellers. Work is going on for the 21st century to be an attraction with the old tourist spot in Delhi. India International Convention and Expo Center is being constructed at Dwarka, which will be the center for international trade, conferences and commercial tourism. Bharat Vandana Park is being constructed in the new Parliament House and Dwarka. This will change the picture of the city, employment will increase.

600 MW solar energy will be used

Modi said that such a braking system is being used in the metro, due to which 50 percent of the energy goes back to the grid. The metro is currently using 130 MW of solar power. It will be increased to 600 MW.

One Nation, One Mobility Card

In the coming time, NCMC will be implemented for payment of fare in all public transport including metro, bus across the country. Therefore, work is underway on One Nation, One Mobility Card. This will not require people to queue for tokens and tickets.
