Temperature drops in Delhi: Cold wave continues in Delhi-NCR, coldest morning in a decade and a half

Cold wave continues across North India including Delhi-NCR. As the cold wave continued, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees on Monday, much lower than normal. At the same time, the maximum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees. According to the India Meteorological Department, the skies of Delhi-NCR will be partly cloudy on Monday. At the same time, the cold in Delhi is making new records this time. The October cold broke the record of 58 years, now the record for decades is being broken on the day of November. In the 22 days of this month, many such mornings have been recorded, which have been the coldest since 2010. On Sunday morning, November was the coldest in 17 years. The condition of the cold is that now the minimum temperature as well as the maximum temperature is also falling.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Sunday was 6.9 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal. This is the lowest minimum temperature in the month of November to 2004. On November 29 in 2003, the minimum temperature was 6.1 degrees.

Please also mention here that the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.5 degree Celsius on Friday, which was the lowest in 14 years. That is, the cold in November is making a new record every day. Earlier the cold used to fall in December, this year Delhi residents are feeling it only in November. It is also worth mentioning here that the all-time record of minimum temperature in this month is 28 November 1938, when it was recorded only 3.9 degree Celsius.

Mahesh Palawat, chief meteorologist at Skymet Weather, said that there are mainly two reasons for such low temperature and increasing cold. The first is that the sky is moving clear these days. There are no clouds at all. In this type of season, winter grows rapidly. The second reason is that the effect of snowfall on the mountains is also reaching Delhi.

At the same time, Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional meteorological center, Delhi, said that except for the absence of clouds on the 16th day, the minimum temperature daily for this entire month was two to three degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, it will be partly cloudy on Monday. There will be mist in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 24 and 8 degrees respectively. However, due to the impact of a new western disturbance from 25, the temperature may increase slightly.
