By-elections in Madhya Pradesh’s 24 assembly seats will be held in June

Bhopal, State Bureau. With the death of two MLAs of Madhya Pradesh and the resignation of 22 rebel Congress MLAs, a total of 24 seats in the vacant assembly will now be held together in June. There has not been such a large number of by-elections in the tenure of any assembly in the state. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has instructed all collectors to conduct voter list and polling stations.

Jaura Assembly seat in MP is vacant due to the death of Congress MLA Banwari Lal Sharma and Agar Assembly seat BJP MLA Manohar Camelwal. Elections are to be held before the last week of June. The number of vacant seats has increased to 24 after the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs, including Jyotiraditya Scindia, 19 supporters and three other MLAs. By-elections in these seats can also be held in June itself.

For this, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer has started preparations. In-charge Chief Electoral Officer Aran Kumar Tomar said that the District Election Officers (Collector) have been instructed to get the voter list and polling station tested. If there is a need to increase the center or change the location, then send a proposal so that action can be taken within the time limit with the permission from the Election Commission.

Jaura, Agar (Aja), Gwalior, Dabra (Aja), Bamori Surkhi, Sanchi (Aja), Sanveer (Aja), Sumavali, Morena, Dimani, Ambah (Aja), Mehgaon, Gohad (Aja), Gwalior (East), Bhander (Aja), Karaira (Aja), Pohri, Ashok Nagar (Aja), Mungavali, Anuppur (Aja), Hatpipalya, Badnawar, Suwasara.
