Gargi College Molestation case: Hearing In Delhi High Court Today On A Petition Seeking CBI Inquiry
The case will be heard today for alleged molestation during a cultural program at Gargi Mahila College, Delhi. Appeal has been filed by filing a petition in the court that the CBI should investigate the matter, which should be monitored by the court. The petitioner appealed to the court to expedite the hearing of the case.
Explain that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court by advocate Manohar Lal Sharma to get the CBI investigated under the supervision of the court. The Supreme Court had asked the petitioner to go to the Delhi High Court.
One more arrested in Gargi College molestation case
The Hauz Khas police station has succeeded in arresting another accused on Sunday for molesting and assaulting students at Gargi College’s annual festival. The accused is a resident of Delhi. Police have so far arrested 15 accused.
DCP Dakshin Atul Kumar Thakur said that one of the accused has been arrested from Delhi on Sunday for molesting students. The police team also raided his house, friends and relatives for his arrest. The accused is arrested from his friend’s house. The police officer said that the accused was identified by digging CCTV footage installed in the college campus.
On 6 February last, a crowd of unknown people forcibly entered the annual festival at Gargi College. Those in the crowd not only molested the students on the college campus but also threatened them as well as indulged in obscene acts with them. Students reported the incident on the college campus on social media two days after the incident. After which the protest started and the college administration gave a complaint to the police. After this, the police registered a case and started searching for the accused.
