Jogendranath Mandal: First Law Minister of PAK who had to return to India; PM Modi mentioned
New Delhi [Jagran Special]. The partition of India-Pakistan is a thing of the past, but comparatively, Pakistan is behind India today. This frustration is also understandable through statements and terrorist actions of Pakistani politicians. Pakistan used the people for its own benefit and then released them. Even if it is the first Law Minister of Pakistan, Jogendranath Mandal.
PM Modi had taken the name in the speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while replying to the President’s address, mentioned Jogendranath Mandal in his address, then curiosity definitely arises how a Dalit man became the first Law Minister of Pakistan and then how he was returned to India Had to return.
Early life: Jogendranath Mandal was born on 29 January 1904 in Namasundra Dalit society in undivided Bengal. In early life, he faced untouchability. His political life began as a leader of the Scheduled Castes in Bengal. He was elected to the Bengal Legislative Assembly in 1937 and later became a minister. However, after becoming disenchanted with the Congress, he joined the Muslim League.
Contribution to Pakistan: Jogendranath Mandal was one of the prominent persons whom Mohammad Ali Jinnah had great faith in. He was one of the prominent persons who saw the dream of modernizing and developing Pakistan. Mandal was the first Law and Labor Minister of Pakistan. He was also the second minister of the Commonwealth and Kashmir affairs. His support for the League stems from the belief that Jinnah’s Dalit interest in ‘secular Pakistan’ would be better protected than Jawaharlal Nehru or Mahatma Gandhi in India. After partition, he became a member of the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan in 1947.
