New Delhi, PTI Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is trying to get India out of the economic downturn and bring the economy to the level of $ 5,000 billion by 2025, has said on Sunday that the private sector, along with the government, in achieving the $ 5 trillion target Everyone has an important role, including foreign investors and small and medium enterprises, and they all have to make efforts together. The Finance Minister said this in a special conversation with reporters in his office on Sunday after presenting the budget.

The Finance Minister said, “Today there is a need to make efforts to take the economy forward rapidly. The government should also make this effort and it is also expected, but with the help of only one engine (government) to take the entire economy forward, it will not happen. Be it the government, private sector, foreign investment or whatever else, everyone has to move forward together.

The Finance Minister said, “Today there is a need to make efforts to take the economy forward rapidly.

Nirmala Sitharaman said that in the budget 2020, measures have been taken to make the road more accessible to take the economy forward rapidly. He said, “By doing this, we are opening the way for everyone so that whether it is a private sector, foreign investors, micro small and medium sector or businessmen, all together work together to advance the economy and take it forward.”. ”

The government has targeted to make the country a $ 5 trillion economy, but economic activity has been affected due to the global slowdown. During the current financial year 2019-20, the economic growth rate has been projected to be 11-year low of five percent. In such a situation, doubts have increased about the target of an economy of $ 5 trillion.

On the question of employment, Sitharaman said that several steps have been taken in this direction in the budget 2020. He also referred to the “blue economy”. In this regard, he mentioned the “Sagar Mitra” scheme announced in the budget 2020 and said that under this the government will support the youth living in the coastal area, training them in deep-sea fishing.

The Finance Minister said that emphasis has been laid on storage facilities for agricultural products through self-help groups (SHGs) to women entrepreneurs in rural areas. He said, “Our government will support to set up facilities like block storage, cold houses, and freight vehicles at the block, taluk level.”
