United Kingdom Volcanic rocks may trigger massive unpredicted global warming effects
London, Volcanic Rocks: After volcanic rocks become active, global warming is increasing unexpectedly due to the greenhouse gases emitted from them. A new study claimed that its effect on our atmosphere is far greater than earlier estimates. Researchers say that after the findings of this study come out, scientists may need to change their old ways of predicting climate change.
The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, says that due to changes in Earth’s geology, the last 65 million years have caused the most temporary global warming. Now scientists are finding out what is the relationship between the arrival of magma on the surface of the Earth and the increase in the level of greenhouse gases.
Researchers at the University of Birmingham, UK, said, ‘Large ignis provisions (LIPs) also play the biggest role in climate change. LIPs refer to areas where igneous rocks are most commonly found. From time to time due to geological changes, the magma from its crust is released towards the surface. The awakened volcano can be considered the best example of LIP.
Study did like this: For this study, the researchers made a model estimate the temperature changes due to carbon emissions in a gap of about 55 million years. During this time, researchers also calculated the flow of greenhouse gases in igneous rock parts of the North Atlantic. The largest igneous rocks are found on Earth in Britain, Ireland, Norway, and Greenland.
Carbon emissions also cause igneous rocks: Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and co-author of this study, Stephen Jones, said, ‘We explored the process of magma formation along with the detection of greenhouse gases flowing from igneous rocks. How responsible are these rocks for carbon emissions? ‘ Jones said, “During the study, we found that the last 65 million years of the volcanic eruption in these rocks have caused the highest emission of greenhouse gases.”
Are responsible for climate change:
He said, ‘Therefore it can be said that as much as other factors are responsible for climate change, these igneous rocks are also responsible. When magma comes out from these rocks, there is also a lack of oxygen in the surrounding atmosphere.
World’s largest volcano
A volcano is nothing less than a demon. As long as they are in a dormant state, everything is fine, but as soon as they wake up, they take a large area. There are many such volcanoes worldwide. There are dozens of active volcanoes in Latin America alone. Many of these are also very dangerous. Let’s take a look at the devastating volcanoes…
Colima, Mexico
It is one of the most dangerous volcanoes. It keeps releasing ash and smoke from time to time. Its height is 3280 meters. In 2015 and 2016, the surrounding areas were evacuated due to its ashes.
Popocatepetl, Mexico
This volcano is 5,452 meters high and is one of the most active volcanoes. It is about 70 kilometers southeast of Mexico City. After 1994, this volcano is active. It keeps the ash and lava coming out.
Glarus, Colombia
It is the most active volcano in Colombia. An explosion in 1993 killed a group of scientists and tourists here as they all went inside the crater of Jwalaamukhi.
Turrialba, Costa Rica
It is located about 60 kilometers from the city of San Jones, California. It exploded in 2016.
