Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who set a world record with 6 wickets by spending just 7 runs against Bangladesh, has made a strong jump in the ICC rankings. He has jumped 88 places to 42nd in the ICC T20 rankings for bowlers on the basis of his excellent performance. However, slow bowlers dominate the list. The top five bowlers and 8 of the top 9 bowlers are spinners. Mitchell Sentner of New Zealand has reached the second place after Rashid Khan of Afghanistan.
In the third and final match against Bangladesh, Chahar became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in this shortest format. With this, India was successful in winning the first T20 series on home soil this season. Among other bowlers from India, Krunal Pandya (combined 18th) has jumped 6 places, Yuzvendra Chahal (25th) and Washington Sundar (27th) have jumped 21 places.
