Mexico City: Five US citizens died in a violent attack by suspected gunmen involved in the drugs business in northern Mexico. Local media reported that a mother and her four children have been killed in this attack.

According to the BBC report, the victims were from the LeBron family, who belonged to the Mormon community. He settled in Mexico several decades ago.

Members of the LeBron family said a large group of three mothers and 14 children were riding in cars from Bavippe in Sonora state to La Mora in the neighboring state of Chihuahua.

They were attacked by gunmen ambushed in Bavispe. The burnt bullet-proof SUV was later found on the roadside with the remains of the victims.

A burnt car is seen in the video of the incident, in which some victims are also likely to be burnt alive. After this development, many other people are also being reported missing.

The local media has expressed the possibility that this attack may have been planned for someone else and that the family may have fallen prey to it by mistake.
