The first day-night Test in India will be played from 22 to 26 November at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is one of the two players who have played with the pink ball in the light of the past. Saha is now ready to share his experience with the Indian team.

Among the Indian players, Saha and Mohammed Shami have experience of playing Test matches day and night in domestic cricket. Both players have played day and night cricket in the CAB Super League final at Eden Gardens in 2016. Saha said in a conversation with IANS that it will be challenging for Indian players to play Test matches day and night for the first time.

Saha said, ‘This will be a new challenge before us. We have not played a Test match with a pink ball. I have been a part of the pink ball match in domestic cricket. The important thing is that how do you as a team face this challenge and I am sure we will.

Asked if you are ready to help your teammates, Saha said, ‘To be honest, I don’t remember anything. Shami had bowled really fast and we (Mohun Bagan) had won. One thing I remember is that I was having difficulty catching the ball.
