Special Session Of UP Legislative Assembly On Gandhi Jayanti: SP-BSP Leader Busy, Congress Open Boycott

Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

Opposition parties finally opted out of the special session of the assembly to be held on October 2 and 3 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. For this, the SP has taken the cover of Gandhi Jayanti program, while the BSP leaders are talking about electoral busyness. At the same time, the Congress has openly announced a boycott.

Chief spokesperson of the main opposition party SP, Rajendra Chaudhary, says that the party is organizing Gandhi Jayanti program on October 2 at the GPO. All parties will attend the program led by National President Akhilesh Yadav. The SP may not have explicitly said the boycott, but it is certain that the party will not attend the special session. BSP Legislature Party leader Lalji Verma says that there are elections in other states including by-elections in the state. Other party MLAs, including me, are busy with them.

Congress Legislature Party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu says that the opposition is not just for making a record of the government. The government does not pay attention to the issues raised in the general sessions. The promises made to the public could not be fulfilled. The Chinmayananda episode has exposed the government’s intention. We are going to hit the streets on October 2 against the policies of the Yogi government.
