Indian women’s cricket team defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the first T20 match on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series.
Indian women’s cricket team defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the first T20 match on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. Batting first, India scored 130 runs for eight wickets and then dismissed the South African team for 119 runs with one ball remaining.
For South Africa, Mignon du Preez smashed 59 off 43 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. But even his innings could not win the team. Apart from him, Lizelle Lee scored 16 and Laura Volvardt scored 14 runs.

For India, Deepti Sharma took three (4-3-8-3) apart from Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav, and Radha Yadav, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur took one wicket. Deepti received the Player of the Match award for his superb bowling.
Earlier, India scored 130 runs for eight wickets with the help of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s useful innings of 43 runs. Harmanpreet hit three fours and two sixes in 34 balls. Apart from them, Smriti Mandhana scored 21, Deepti Sharma 16 and Veda Krishnamurthy 10, while Tania Bhatt scored an unbeaten 11 runs.
From South Africa, Shabnim Ismail took three and Nadine de Clerc took two, while Tuni Sekhukhune and Nondumiso Shengess took one wicket each.
