Manchester Test: Australia backed by Smith-Labushen partnership

On Wednesday, the first day of the fourth Test match of the Ashes series being played in Manchester between Australia and England, the rain caused a lot of trouble, due to which only the game of 44 overs as possible. Australia ended the day with 170 runs losing three wickets.
Australian batsman Steve Smith is unbeaten on 60 runs. Travis Head is playing with him by scoring 18 runs. Marnus Labuschen contributed 67 runs. On the basis of a century partnership (116) between Smith and Labushane, the Australian team was able to recover after a poor start.
In the first session, Australia had scored 98 runs and lost two wickets. Most of the games of the second season could not be held due to rain. As soon as the rain stopped, the match started shortly after and Labushen completed his half-century and after some time Smith also completed his fifty runs.
Both of them shared 116 runs for the third wicket. Craig Overton broke the partnership by dismissing Labushen. He faced 128 balls and hit 10 fours in his innings. Smith played 93 balls and hit seven fours until the announcement of the tea season. In the middle of tea time, the rain once again interfered and the umpires announced to end the day’s play.
Earlier, Stuart Broad once again made David Warner his victim and was dismissed on the fourth ball of the match without opening the account. It was Broad who lbw the second opener Marcus Harris to a total score of 28.
