IND vs WI

The Indian team management is in a dilemma over preparing a combination for the first Test match against the West Indies. In the event of landing with five specialist bowlers, Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane, which one to choose, it has not been decided yet. The first Test of the two-Test series will be played from 22 to 26 August at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (North Sound, Antiga). This will be the first match for the two teams under the World Test Championship.

If Team India follows the strategy of landing with four bowlers, then both Rohit and Rahane can get a place in the playing XI. If this does not happen, then either one of these two will have to sit outside and look at the current form Rahane is finding it difficult to choose.

After seven and a half months, India will come out to play in the long-term format and the biggest question about the final XI is that Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri go with an extra sixth batsman or extra bowler for the first Test match starting on Thursday. Or not.

If the Indian team management follows the traditional strategy, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal should start the innings, but it should not be forgotten that Rahul was not selected in the team for the last two Tests against Australia and Hanuma Vihari innings. Was introduced.

Although Vihari did not score many runs, he played an important role in taking the shine off the ball, which benefited Aggarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara. If Rahul’s poor Test record of last year is kept in mind, Vihari can start the innings again.

Pujara and Kohli are two strong pillars at number three and four, but the problem starts after that. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant can land at number six and in the absence of Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja can come at number seven to balance the team. In such a situation, Kohli will have to choose between Rohit and Rahane.

Rohit scored an unbeaten half-century in his final Test innings and he also batted well in the first innings of the practice match. Rahane scored in the second innings, but he is not in good form and even while playing in county cricket for Hampshire, his confidence did not increase.

These two can be included in the XI only on the strategy of landing with four bowlers. In such a situation, three fast bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Ishant Sharma and the only spinner in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin or Kuldeep Yadav will be kept in the team.

Placing extra batsmen means Jadeja will not get a chance. Captain Kohli has always been in favor of taking down five bowlers, as it is necessary to take 20 wickets to win a Test match. If the pitch is favorable for fast bowlers, then Umesh Yadav can also be taken in the team.
